How to set up an email account in Microsoft Outlook 2010?

Steps to set up domain specific email with Microsoft Outlook.

  1. Go to start -> search “Microsoft Outlook” and click on it.
  2. Click Next.

  3. You will get “Account Configuration” page.
  4. “Yes” will be auto selected. Keep it “Yes” and click Next.

  5. You will get “Auto Account Setup” options
  6. Email Account will be Auto Selected.

    Click on “Manually configure server Settings or additional server types” and click Next.

  7. Choose Service
  8. Internet E-mail will be auto selected. Keep it and click Next.

  9. Internet Email Settings
  10. Add name, email address and all the required details.

    For server information:

    Incoming mail server: mail.YOURDOMAIN.com

    Outgoing mail server: mail.YOURDOMAIN.com

    Click on More Settings.

  11. Outgoing Sever
  12. Check “My outgoing server(SMTP) requires authentication”

    Then click on “Advanced”

    Click on “Leave a copy of messages on the server” if you want to keep on web mail also.

    Click OK.

    Then you will return to “Internet E-mail Settings” screen.

    Click Next.

  13. Test Account Settings
  14. After successful testing it will look like:

    Click Close and then Click on Finish

    You are Done. You will get the Dashboard of your email Account.

If you get an error while testing the account:

Error:

Sending error in Outlook: “Send test e-mail message: Outlook cannot connect to your outgoing (SMTP) e-mail server. If you continue to receive this message, contact your server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP)

Then, you need to do following changes in “Internet E-mail Settings”

Set the SMTP server port to 587 and the encryption type to Auto.

Add another account in Outlook

Go to Files -> Add Account


If you have 2 or more account then you can also set default email for sending the mail:

Go to Files -> Account Settings

Create Signature

  1. Click on -> New Email -> Insert -> Signature
  2. Click New
  3. Give the name of New Signature.
  4. Add Text and Images you want in your signature.

  5. Click OK
  6. And You Are Done!!
